Change swipe to a left to right swipe instead of a vertical swipe
Not a bad app. Love having all the music in one place. But having to swipe vertically is not a natural action for musicians. I use the app a lot less than I thought I would specifically for that reason. Also, set list should move from song to song instead of having to go back to tap for the next song.
Reinstall Instruction
The Baptist Hymnal 1991 Index
I reinstalled, but I only got the 200 free hymns.
These issues can easily be addressed by reinstalling the app. Here's how:
Delete the app from your iPad by pressing and holding the icon to make it wiggle, then press the x with a circle around it to delete.
Then, launch the App Store from your home screen, and re-download the hymnal app. If you tap the 'Purchased' icon at the bottom of the page, it should show you a little cloud icon that tells you you can redownload the application.
From within the app, click on a greyed-out hymn and 're-purchase' the hymns. You will get a prompt letting you know that you've already made this purchase, and that you can redownload the hymns for free. This should download the whole hymns package for you.

Updating dissatisfaction
You would think that a Christian organization like Lifeway would deal more honestly. This app is pretty much a rip-off of those of us who paid 9.99 for it. Not to be updated in this length of time is unacceptable.
Nothing new here, I guess. I'd like to add my agreement to other reviews on several items. 1. Make the app more like a book where you can page from hymn to hymn. A right swipe should take you from 622 to 623, etc. 2. Selecting either TOC should open at the hymn that you are viewing, not the beginning of the list. 3. The Setlist should page from one hymn to the next, you shouldn't have to go back to the index each time. The search function is pretty hopeless. Really difficult to use. Typing 'What' brings up a whole list of titles including, Abide with Me. Function needs some polishing.I hope you will update soon. Our church no longer uses hymnals (sadly) but as a musician, I hate to sing off a screen with no notation.

The Baptist Hymnal is the primary book of hymns and songs used for Christian worship in churches affiliated with the United States denomination, the Southern Baptist Convention.
The title was first used for a Convention publication in 1956, and a second version was released in 1975. The third version of The Baptist Hymnal was released in 1991. The newest version of the Baptist Hymnal was released in 2008. All were printed by LifeWay Christian Resources, formerly known as the Sunday School Board of the Southern Baptist Convention; however, the 1956 printing names Convention Press as the printer and secured holder of copyright.

There is also a precursor to the 1956 publication entitled 'The Baptist Hymn and Praise Book', published in 1904 in Nashville Tennessee. Though it was titled differently, it is considered the predecessor to the Southern Baptist Convention's 'Baptist Hymnal' series.[1]
The Worship Project[edit]
The new resource, The Worship Project, had the goal of 'meeting the worship needs of churches by embarking on an innovative venture to couple an updated Baptist Hymnal with modern technology.'[2]
At a summit meeting in January 2007, leadership from across Southern Baptist life came together to contribute direction to the overall makeup of the project. Attendees included music professors from Southern Baptist seminaries and 21 Baptist colleges, as well as church musicians, worship leaders, music industry leaders, representatives from the staff that created the 1991 Baptist Hymnal and current LifeWay employees who are devoted to the project. Among other priorities discussed, the summit served as a means to get feedback from music practitioners on criteria for selecting the hymns, worship songs and praise choruses to be included.[3]
In July 2007, LifeWay announced the names of the products to be included in the Worship Project: Baptist Hymnal, The Worship Hymnal, and lifewayworship.com.[4]
In October 2007, a Theology Committee was convened at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for a theological review of songs that will be included in the project. Jon Duncan, state music director of the Georgia Baptist Convention, served as committee leader.[5]
The project release was in 2008.
Other works[edit]
The American Baptist Publication Society, Philadelphia published a book in 1883 called 'The Baptist Hymnal'. This work was published separately from the Sunday School Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and is not affiliated with the information of this page.[6]
Aylesbury Press in Surrey Hills, Sydney, Australia published a book in 1967 called 'The Hymnal' but also known as 'The Baptist Hymnal'.[7] This is a work unrelated to the subject of this page.
